Difficulty: a very demanding route
Route description:
The route starts again in Harrachov, Nový Svět, at the Motejlek Hotel – at the petrol station. Ascend slightly along the minor road, following the red tourist sign, as far as the crossing at the Karolína Hotel. Continue along the major road (towards Poland) for about 200 m, and take the first right, into the wood. Now you are following the yellow tourist sign. Continue uphill, then follow the by-road below it, to the crossroad above on the plain. There, turn right, almost following the contour line as far as the Mumlavská hut, near the Mumlavský waterfall. You might start the route from different places in the town, if you like. Now, follow the blue tourist sign, slightly ascending for about 2. 5 km to the Lubošská gill.
On the right, there is a turning with a bridge over the Mumlava River, and about 20 m further on, there is a left turning up the hill – it is so-called Old Telephone Road, known as the Vosecká Road nowadays. Go along the Vosecká Road (slightly ascending and crossing Terex above), as far as the Vosecká hut. Behind the hut, continue the road uphill, following the yellow tourist sign, as far as the Czech-Polish Friendship Road. There is also a tourist border crossing to Poland – Tvarožník – and on the left, you can see Polish hut called Srenica, which has a lift. The route leads on, along the border, following the red tourist sign.
At the next crossroad called Česká budka, go straight on. Go along Violik, a shoulder with granite boulders; continue as far as Sněžné jámy at the horizon, near to the Polish telecommunication building -called Wawel. You can walk on the level, to the other side of Sněžné jámy which has a viewing point. Go back, following the yellow tourist sign, along the so-called Koňská Road. Near the Kamenná well, descend leftwards to the Labská hut. Below the hut you can see the Labský Waterfall, too. After refreshment and rest, follow the green tourist sign behind the hut up to the Elbe Source, above. From the Elbe Source, go left, initially following the green tourist sign; then the yellow sign (along the asphalt road), as far as Vrbatovo návrší, above the Vrbatova hut. After sightseeing and possible refreshment, continue to the signpost at the top. Turn left, following the red tourist sign (past Harrachovy kameny, where there is a nice view of the Kotel Mountain), as far as Růženčina záhrádka, below.
From there, turn left, and keep following the red tourist sign as far as Dvoračky. (We have already introduced this route – in the opposite direction – in the route no. 5 – To Harrachova louka). At the hut, slightly descend along the so-called Krakonošova Road, as far as the green tourist sign at the crossroad Na Ručičkách.
Now, turn right, keep following the green tourist sign, all the way on to Harrachov, to Rýžoviště. Along the local, road walk towards the bus station below, through the entire Harrachov, to the beginning of the route.
