Difficulty: a very undemanding route, with a 6. 7 km / 200 m alternative

Route description:

The route starts again in Harrachov, Nový Svět, at the Motejlek Hotel – at the petrol station. Ascend slightly along the minor road, following the red tourist sign, as far as the crossing at the Karolína Hotel. Go along the major road (towards Poland), continue for about 200 m, and take the first right, into the wood. Now you are following the yellow tourist sign. Continue uphill, then follow the by-road (below), to the crossroad above, on the plain straight to the wood – this road is unguided. The road keeps elevating near the Kamenice River, there are several stone dikes, and many spots suitable for photography. Continue without deviation (slightly uphill still), as far as the crossroad, where the asphalt road turns left across a little bridge. The route continues straight, elevating again, along the forest path, near to the Kamenice River.

An alternative: turn left at the crossroad, cross the bridge, then continue along quite a wide forest lane (initially  ascending, then descending), as far as the major road, that leads from Harrachov to Poland. Along the road, walk for about 300 m downhill to the town by-road. This easy alternative is especially suitable for elderly people, or even mothers with children.
When you arrive at the bridge over the Janouškova Road (up to this point, the route is identical with route no. 8, to the Vosecká hut), continue to the left, uphill again. After about 500 m, the road will start to decline until the end of the route. Now, you will be passing the woodlanders’ hut Alfrédka, which is situated very close to the road on the left. There are spectacular views of the surroundings, and even of the Jizerské Mountains; you can see the dominating feature of the settlement of Jizerka – the Bukovec Mountain. Continue downhill, and you will gradually get to the pedestrian crossing to Poland, Harrachov – Jakuszyce. When you arrive at the road, cross it, and go on, following the red tourist sign.

Soon you will arrive at the so-called Stará celní Road, turn left there. At the first crossing, turn right and continue along the road, to arrive at the Huťský pond – another sought-after photography spot. Go along the road, through the pike, and then turn right towards the wood below. Next to the stream, turn left - there you can see a fish-breeding pond and, across the wooden bridge, the sports facility for biathlon – and continue on. Turn left to the major road and go back to the start of the route.
