On the first Harrachov´s hike we are going to see woody valleys as well as ridges of west Krkonoše including peat bogs and the source of the river Labe. It is longer route for trained tourists, on one part of the trip leading on the border it is necessary to have personal documents ( foreigners – their passport ).
Description:
From Harrachov Information centre of Krkonoše National park or from bus station we will start our hike, following the blue marked route, crossing the road outflank and around the forest pass regulation of water and soon we will get to Mumlavská chalet and Mumlavský vodopád. We will continue through Mumlavský důl along asphalt road and right shore of the river. Short of crossroad Krakonošova snídaně turn to the north along the red route to Vosecká bouda(Chalet). Then at first we ascend along short cut and then supplying path (together with yellow route). Vosecká bouda (1250 m.a.s.) is one the classic Krkonoše´s chalets. It was founded as a shelter for woodmen in the middle of 18th century, since 1896 it has been used as a tourist chalet – it is owned by KČT (Club of Czech tourists).
From Vosecká bouda we ascend through scrub pines to the state’s border and at granite rock hill Tvarožník (1322 m. a. s.) we join the Route of Czech-Polish friendship, that leads over the whole length of Slezský hřbet. About on the north from us there is the top of Szrenica (1361 m. a. s.) with its Polish chalet, a metrological station and a bit down there is top station of cable car. But we will go the opposite way and after about 2 km on the red marked route, leading mostly on Polish side, at crossroad at former Czech box we will turn right again and we will follow the yellow routes to symbolic source of the river Labe. We continue on the yellow route along comfortable path, from the crossroad U čtyř pánů on the green route to the crossroad at Růženčina zahrádka(Rose garden). We have come through flat surface of Navarská, Labská and Pančavská meadow with large peat bogs and scrub pines. After a few steps on the red route we are coming to the mysterious Rose garden.
From the saddle between Lysá hora and Kotel (Kotel´s saddle) we steeply descend to Dvoračky. After possible refreshment we continue on Krakonošova cesta ( Krakonoš's route, green marked, goes from Mísečky to Harrachov) to the important crossroad Ručičky (980 m. a. s.), where we have beautiful views to west Krkonoše, especially Rokytnice. At Ručičky we will turn right to peaceful valley of Ryzí potok(stream, it used to be Sejsfký ), along this stream we ascend to the settlement Rýžoviště. Firstly it was an inhabited part of today’s Harrachov ( maybe already in 14th century) and there used to be a mine too. Nowadays it is a recreation and sport centre (ski lifts and downhill courses) From Rýžoviště we will comfortably get along the road and Skalní stěna to our starting point in Harrachov.
